Background

At 4:15 a.m. the captain and crew of a Capital Airlines DC-8 descending into Gander, Newfoundland, watched an object flashing red and white lights draw alongside the plane as it flew at 290 mph at 7,500 feet. It kept a parallel course until it disappeared in cloud cover about 5 miles from Gander. Air traffic control at Gander confirmed there was no other aircraft in the vicinity. The case is described by Timothy Good and Chris Rutkowski. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
