At 2:30 a.m. on 24 November 1974, Ronald Messore and his wife, driving east on Interstate 80 near Baxter, California, saw an object with revolving green, white and blue lights and a floodlight cross the highway and descend into woods 150 feet away.

Ronald Messore and his wife were driving east on Interstate 80 near Baxter, California, heading into the Sierra Nevada, when he saw a green and white revolving light like a beacon about a quarter-mile ahead on the left, drifting about 30 feet above the ground; then a brilliant blue light became visible. Suddenly an orange-white floodlight switched on and the object moved closer to the road, frightening them both. The floodlight switched off as the object passed over the highway, and the green, white and blue beacons were visible again. It descended into a densely wooded area 150 feet away, and Messore sped off. The account follows the entry in George M.
