A report published the following day in Le Parisien Libéré reproduced Galley's remarks on France-Inter. He was quoted as saying that there was something not understood and still unexplained at the time. He also recalled that a commission for witness reports had been established within the French Defence Ministry in 1954.
Galley concluded by calling for an “extremely open-minded attitude” toward UFO reports and by cautioning against automatically doubting witnesses' good faith. At the same time, he said it was far too early to draw conclusions. He therefore treated unexplained observations as worthy of attention without endorsing an extraterrestrial explanation.
