Background

At 2:30 p.m. on January 5, 1975, David Mahon, 14, was photographing the woods near his rural home at Brownstown, Illinois, when he heard a humming, motor-like sound and saw a black object with a grayish haze overhead. The craft descended to about 500 feet and came to hover directly above him while he took photos. He then felt a pulling sensation and found himself in a small room five or six feet wide, lined with pulsating orange lens-like objects, with his arms fixed to his sides and a glowing grate pulsing on the floor. The experience seemed to last half a minute, but his father said he had been gone for up to an hour and a half. The photographs were overexposed and out of focus; David later claimed further abduction experiences. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
