Pittsburg, Kansas: Family sees glowing round object as wide as the highway hover
At 9:00 p.m. one evening in late July or early August 1975, a married couple and their small son driving near Pittsburg, Kansas, saw a round, intensely glowing object cross the highway at telephone-pole height and hover.
Background
A married couple and their small son were driving in the country near Pittsburg when the wife noticed an object moving quickly toward them. It came across the highway at about telephone-pole height; it was round and glowed intensely, with even brighter small panels set all around it, and it was as wide as the highway as it hovered. The husband pulled over and the object began to pull away. They followed it while it frequently changed its motion, until it picked up speed and blinked out. The account comes from the Timmerman files at CUFOS. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
