Ranch worker Jorge Arturo Aguerre saw an object like an upturned funnel with windows land for 3–4 minutes near Tacuarembó, Uruguay. It was about 45 feet in diameter and emitted two brilliant beams of light from its top. Police found landing marks and a burned area. A similar object was seen in the same area on September 13. The Buenos Aires newspaper Crónica reported the case on October 1, 1976, and the International UFO Reporter mentioned it in January 1977. The account follows the entry in George M.
