Background

At 7:30 p.m. four physicians and a diplomat in an undeveloped region of Algeria south of Algiers watched a bright oval light on the horizon heading toward them. The object cast a faint beam downward, sweeping the ground, as it darted silently around the sky. It was bright when in motion but faint when it stopped. After an hour it faded, leaving a glowing space in the dark sky. Eberhart cites the "Foreign Forum" column in International UFO Reporter (April 1977). The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
