Background

At 12:15 p.m. Michael Winterborne, meteorological officer at Kalgoorlie Airport in Western Australia, saw a white, football-shaped object, glowing and pulsating with fuzzy edges, rush from the northeast to the northwest horizon at great speed. At 2:45 p.m. he saw it again, arching overhead toward the west. He timed both passages by stopwatch at 12 seconds. Dave Bower, at the Scotia nickel mine about 50 miles to the north, saw a UFO drifting slowly westward at about 1,000 feet. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
