Redding, California: Object at mine site knocks couple unconscious for 15 minutes
On December 29, 1976, Mr. and Mrs. Chapin found their mine site near Redding, California, unseasonably warm again; a pock-marked object like the one they had seen in October 1969 appeared, moved rapidly and zapped them both, leaving them unconscious for about 15 minutes.
Background
Mr. and Mrs. Chapin, who had had an earlier experience there in October 1969, again noticed that their mine site near Redding was unseasonably warm. Chapin walked carefully down toward the creek while his wife stayed in the car. When he shouted to her to bring the gun, she saw an object similar to the one they had seen seven years earlier, but more pock-marked on the surface, some 175–200 feet from her husband. It moved rapidly through the air and zapped them both, knocking them to the ground; Chapin hit his head against the canyon wall and his wife fell to the road. They remained unconscious for about 15 minutes.
