Background

Observers at Mehrabad Airport in Tehran, Iran, saw 20 to 25 UFOs flying from the desert toward the city. The pilots and passengers of an Iranian airliner flying at more than 6 miles altitude about 87 miles from the city described them as yellow. A Japanese pilot the same distance south of Tehran switched on all his lights when he saw a huge object in front of his plane. He claimed that 15 to 20 smaller objects flew out of the large one directly toward him, and he changed course and headed for Mehrabad. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
