Background

At 10:00 p.m. a polygraph examiner with experience as a pilot and sailor was sitting on her porch in Smyrna, Georgia, when she noticed an object the size of a distant aircraft fly out in front of the moon. The object was white, intensely luminous and shaped like a hemisphere. It hovered for a few seconds, shot straight up and hovered again. It then tilted back, showing its bottom with two Saturn-like rings of light, flew back in front of the moon and disappeared. Eberhart cites IUR of January 1978 (Case 3-1-20). The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
