Background
At 8:28 p.m. on December 1, 1977, an electrician driving east out of Elm City, North Carolina, saw a large object drift into view from the north. It had one intense headlight in front, four to six blue lights around the edges, and many red and white lights forming portholes along the sides. It was shaped like a torpedo with four swept-back fins at the rear joined by a round band, and it made a humming sound. The case was published in the International UFO Reporter in January 1978. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
