Montvale, New Jersey: Four boys see square object and yellow-suited figures at school
At 6:15 p.m. on January 31, 1978, four boys on the playing field of Montvale Memorial Elementary School in New Jersey saw a square object with yellow corner lights emit a red beam and several stiffly walking figures in yellow suits; a similar scene followed the next evening.
Background
At 6:15 p.m. on January 31, 1978, four boys playing on the ice of the Montvale Memorial Elementary School field in Montvale, New Jersey, saw an “airplane” pass slowly overhead, followed by a square object with large yellow lights at each corner, a slight dome on top and a red light underneath, which emitted a red beam that stopped short of the ground. They then saw several bald, stiffly walking humanoid figures in bright yellow outfits with boots and gloves, one with a larger, creased head and a brown cape, while they noticed an uncanny silence and a sulfur-like odor. The figures walked toward the nearby Public Works Garage. A woman in a dark suit with blue fur around her shoulders then moved in slow motion in the parking lot, pointed to another hovering square object and seemed to appear and disappear as a police vehicle drove by. A similar scenario occurred the next evening; Ted Bloecher investigated the case for the MUFON UFO Journal. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
