Between 3:30 and 4 a.m. on February 4, 1978, a painfully loud hum woke Claire Semaza and her two children in Orange, California; they saw an oval object with red end lights rise from a grey haze above the trees.
Background
Between 3:30 and 4:00 a.m. a weird humming sound woke Claire Semaza and her two children in Orange, California. The sound grew until it hurt her ears, and the family dog barked frantically, with an odd pause of several seconds. Outside they saw an oval or cigar-shaped object not far above the trees about half a mile away, with a layer of grey haze below and around it. It rose slowly, leaving the haze behind; a bright red light at each end sent shafts of light toward the ground, with several bluish-white lights between them. It rose higher, flashed a brilliant white light on and off for 3 seconds and quickly disappeared. Meanwhile the dog had carried her seven puppies one by one behind the drapes on the second floor. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
