Leo Giampietro and his wife were driving 15 miles west of Palm Springs when he saw a brown-colored domed disc, the size of a distant aircraft, moving in a straight path over the mountains to the southwest, and pulled over. The object hovered for a few seconds, and he could hear a humming sound. He managed to take three photos. The noise stopped, and the object shot straight up and disappeared. The case was reported in the International UFO Reporter in May 1978, with an update in August. The account follows the entry in George M.
