Background
At 10:00 p.m. on September 3, 1978, Edilia Cresta Gallo and three other women saw a strip of white light descend between a road and a maize field at Alessandria, Piedmont, Italy. The strip morphed into a bright fireball about 5 feet wide. It disappeared and reappeared twice more. The women complained of a burning sensation in their eyes. Paolo Toselli and Edoardo Russo described the case in Flying Saucer Review among three Italian landing reports of 1978. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
