Torriglia, Italy: Night watchman Zanfretta meets tall creature, sees triangular craft
At 11:30 p.m. on 6 December 1978 night watchman Piero Fortunato Zanfretta, on patrol at Marzano near Torriglia, Italy, encountered a six-foot creature and saw a yellow triangular object take off; under hypnosis later that month he described an abduction.
Background
While patrolling at Marzano near Torriglia, a village northeast of Genoa, 26-year-old night watchman Piero Fortunato Zanfretta noticed four lights moving in a courtyard and approached with pistol and flashlight along a house wall. Something pushed him and he fell; when he got up he hit his head and, shining his light upward, saw a six-foot creature with an ugly face. He ran to his car, was blinded by a yellow, triangle-shaped object taking off from behind the house, and radioed for help; colleagues arriving at 1:00 a.m. found him lying confused on a nearby lawn. On 23 December a medical doctor hypnotised him, and an abduction account emerged in which giant green-skinned entities with yellow triangular eyes took him to a bright room and put a hot, painful helmet on his head. Further abductions and memories emerged over time and ceased in 1980. Eberhart cites the International UFO Reporter (1979, 1989), Boccone in Flying Saucer Review 26/1, Di Stefano's book on the case and further sources. The account follows the entry in George M.
