Rowley Regis, England: Woman reports winged beings from orange sphere entering her house
On the morning of January 4, 1979, Jean Hingley of Bluestone Walk, Rowley Regis, West Midlands, England, saw a large orange sphere hovering above her carport; three small winged figures entered her house, and she reported being blinded and burned by a beam of light.
Background
On the morning of January 4, 1979, after waving her husband off to work on Bluestone Walk, Rowley Regis, West Midlands, England, Jean Hingley saw a large orange sphere hovering above the carport. Three small figures, each about three and a half feet tall, in silvery tunics with buttons down the front, “goldfish-bowl” helmets and large transparent wings, shot past her into the house with a high-pitched buzzing noise. In the living room two of them shook the Christmas tree and bounced on the sofa; when she asked them to stop, they shone a beam of light at her forehead that blinded and burned her. They accepted a plate of mince pies, answered her in gruff, masculine voices after pressing buttons on their tunics, and finally flew back to the sphere, which took off and left a trail of inch-wide parallel lines in the snow. On January 6 the Christmas tree vanished from the living room and reappeared on January 8 in pieces in the back garden; the decorations turned up outside the garden over the following days.
