Rauma, Finland: Woman approaches small landed craft, sees two beings at a console
At 12:30 p.m. on June 19, 1979, a couple, Allan and Maila, in Rauma, Finland, saw a small object hover above a rock and sweep the woods with a beam; Maila approached and saw two beings inside.
Background
From their living room, Allan and Maila saw an object, curved on top and flat underneath, hovering above a rock about 200 feet away and sweeping the nearby woods with an undulating blue-black beam. When the beam vanished after a minute, Maila walked up to the object, which was about 3 feet wide, knee-high and resting on tiny legs. Through its transparent top she saw two creatures with hawk-like beaks, green-brown flecked skin, large eyes, long chins and pointed ears, wearing helmets with antennae, black garments and black gloves, seated before a console with levers and dials. When she reached out to touch it, one creature motioned with its left hand and she felt electricity in her eyes; briefly blinded, she staggered as the object took off, and she later developed a severe headache and disturbing dreams. Allan saw the craft leave but not the beings; the incident lasted 10 minutes. The account follows the entry in George M.
