Background
At 4:30 a.m. a driver in Streamwood, Illinois, saw a bright amber light through her windshield to the west. It approached, moved back west dipping left and right, then approached again, floating downward and growing brighter, with red and yellow spikes of light emanating from a bright white center. When she felt her face growing hot, she turned sharply onto another street; in the rear-view mirror she saw the light turn abruptly left and disappear to the north within seconds. By noon her face was sunburned and sore; the skin flaked off the next day, and she recovered quickly. The International UFO Reporter documented the case as Case 4-5-4 in November 1979. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
