Saquarema, Brazil: Pianist Luli Oswald sees lights rise from the sea, loses time
On the night of October 15, 1979, concert pianist Luli Oswald and a neighbor driving near Saquarema and Ponta Negra, Rio de Janeiro, saw lights rise from the ocean and large craft over the road, suffered car failures and lost several hours.
Background
At 9:30 p.m. on October 15, 1979, concert pianist Luli Oswald and a younger neighbor were driving a dirt road along the Atlantic coast toward Saquarema, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, when they saw strange lights offshore; the car's engine failed and the headlights flashed erratically, and the lights followed them. Leaving Saquarema before 11:00 p.m., they ended up on the same road near Ponta Negra, where lights rose from the ocean several hundred feet offshore, a large black domed object at least 320 feet across appeared ahead and a lighted rectangular craft nearly 1,000 feet across hovered to their right. The car shook and swerved, two small objects shone a bright light into it, and their memory was lost until they found themselves on a highway, stopping at a closed gas station at 2:00 a.m. Under later hypnotic regression with Silvio Lago, Oswald described an abduction by rat-faced beings who claimed to live underground in Antarctica. Irene Granchi reported the case in Flying Saucer Review in 1983. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
