Pound Ridge, New York: Boy sees glowing tree-like object hover, then shoot straight up

At 2:30 p.m. a 13-year-old boy was walking home from school through a clearing in the woods in Pound Ridge, New York, when he saw what looked like a solid, 3-foot-tall maple tree surrounded by an electric glow. It hovered for 3 seconds only 12 feet away from him, then shot straight up into the sky, changing color from green to red. The account follows the entry in George M.
