Background

At 5:55 p.m. Norma White watched a bright star from her restaurant in Ansted, West Virginia. It remained stationary for 15 minutes at a height of 2,000 feet over the mountains to the north, then approached her and passed overhead at 100 mph; it hurt her eyes to look at it. Then the light went out, and she could see a Y-shaped object emitting a dull green light, with clusters of red lights at the three points of the Y. It turned silently and flew off to the east. About 18 other lights appeared in the sky and were observed by police officers Charles Crosier and Dan Cohenour. Eberhart cites the IUR report on the West Virginia mini-flap (January 1980). The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
