Background
At 11:15 a.m. on December 27, 1979, two construction workers driving south on Knott Street in Coquille, Oregon, saw a bright flash in the southern sky. It was a reflection off a thin, metallic, domed object wobbling nearby, about 40–50 feet in diameter and 6–7 feet thick. The object descended to about 1,000 feet. The witnesses tried to drive closer and watched it through inexpensive binoculars as it flew down the valley before it disappeared to the south. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
