Background

At 11:00 p.m. a Brazilian electronics businessman and 9 others saw a disc-shaped object shine a light down on the water near the eastern bank of the Rio Tapajós, 30 miles south of Santarém, Brazil, where the man, his family and some relatives were camping on a beach. Several teenagers still awake in their hammocks saw the object come across the river and stop about 30 yards from the beach, shining a light on the water 60 feet below. It hovered briefly, then moved north parallel to the shore for more than half a mile with the spotlight shining straight down before it disappeared. The light beam left a trail of luminescence for several hundred yards. Eberhart cites Bob Pratt's UFO Danger Zone (1996) and Carl W. Feindt in International UFO Reporter (December 2010).
