Bargersville, Indiana: Red balls of light climb poles, approach truck, reappear at home
On May 9, 1980, at 9:00 p.m., a woman driving home with her daughter in Bargersville, Indiana, was surrounded by lemon-sized red balls of light that blinked in succession up and down telephone poles and approached her truck; at home, small red balls of light later moved across her back while the family dog fled to the barn.
Background
At 9:00 p.m., a woman was driving home with her daughter in Bargersville, Indiana, when bright red flashes of light illuminated the inside of her truck and the surrounding area. The flashes came from red balls of light about the size of lemons in the empty fields around them; they blinked on and off in succession, climbed up one telephone pole, moved down, crossed the road, and repeated the motion on another pole. They approached the truck, forcing her to back up, until the phenomenon ceased and she drove home. There her German shepherd started whining and barking, and when her husband stepped outside, the two daughters began screaming as small red balls of light moved across their mother's back and behind her hair; she felt nothing, but the dog ran to the barn and stayed there all night. Allan Hendry reported the case in the CUFOS Associate Newsletter of October 1980. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
