Background

At 4:08 a.m. three tourists camping in Changping District near the Juyong portion of the Great Wall of China took a photo of an unusual object. The photo reportedly shows something like three stars in an inverted T shape surrounded by a halo of light. Western UFO periodicals and a St. Louis newspaper reported the case in early 1981, the CUFOS Associate Newsletter under the headline "First UFO Spotted in China". The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
