Ohio County, Kentucky: Deputy sees six objects, trooper witnesses one, telescope view
From 5:30 p.m. on December 28, 1980, Ohio County, Kentucky, Sheriff Deputy Frank Chinn saw six objects following the same flight path; a state trooper saw one of them leave, and later Chinn and Deputy John Cooper watched an object through a telescope in Centertown.
Background
At 5:30 p.m. Ohio County Sheriff Deputy Frank Chinn was leaving his home in Echols, Kentucky, for his shift when he noticed six objects following the same flight path out of the southwestern sky. He called the state police for verification, and Trooper Don Beemer arrived in time to see one of the objects leaving. Chinn saw two more UFOs later in the evening and met Deputy John Cooper at a gas station in Centertown, Kentucky, where they watched one of the objects through a telescope set up there. Chinn compared the bottom of the UFO to a faceted diamond with a bright white spotlight in each facet and three rotating red, green and yellow lights in the center. The sheriff's department received 14 calls from local residents who also reported sightings. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
