Background

At 1:30 a.m. a witness driving south on Shawnee Road southwest of Lima, Ohio, noticed lights on his left less than a mile ahead. He saw an object hovering silently about 150 to 200 feet away and 75 to 100 feet in the air and watched it from his car for three minutes. It had a glowing lavender-colored area around its outer edge and a dim white light radiating from the center of its flat base. The object moved to the northeast and accelerated. As he drove away, another object began moving parallel to his car about 300 feet to his left and kept pace even when he sped up, until it veered to the southwest. The CUFOS Associate Newsletter reported the case in July 1981. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
