Background

The first Ukrainian scientific meeting on UFOs was held in Kyiv, with 12 PhDs and 40 doctoral candidates participating. The group produced a resolution to study anomalous phenomena “in the interests of the sciences and practical activities of human society.” The Ukrainian Academy of Sciences, especially academician G. S. Pisarenko, lent support to the effort. Eberhart cites V. S. Troitsky in Nauka i Religiya (1982) and Mikhail Gershtein (UAP Check, 2024). The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
