On 21 October 1982, a biologist in Nancy, France, reported that an oval object descended into his garden and hovered about one metre above the ground for roughly 20 minutes. He described it as producing no sound or heat; shortly before departure, the grass reportedly stood upright. According to the secondary case account, the French agency GEPAN investigated the incident and reproduced the grass effect under certain intense electric fields. That does not by itself explain the full report. Claims of desiccated plants and fruit that appeared “cooked” remain case allegations, not independently confirmed effects of the object.
