Canberra, Australia: RAAF lets researcher Bill Chalker examine its UFO files
In 1982 the Royal Australian Air Force granted UFO researcher Bill Chalker permission to examine its UFO files in Canberra; through 1984 he reviewed more than 1,000 reports in 53 RAAF files covering 1950 to 1980.
Background
The Royal Australian Air Force granted UFO researcher Bill Chalker permission to examine its UFO files. Chalker visited the archives in Canberra, A.C.T., and through 1984 reviewed more than 1,000 reports in 53 RAAF files, which allowed him to compile a detailed summary of the years 1950 to 1980. He concluded that the existence of some interesting cases in the files did not suggest an RAAF cover-up. Eberhart cites Basterfield and Godic in the Journal of UFO Studies (1990), an ABC report of December 2024 and Chalker's TheOzFiles blog. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
