Background
At 8:30 p.m. on 10 April 1983, two drivers near Ross, Ohio, saw a large, bright, oval object that seemed to land. The property owner at the location also saw a white light on a hillside behind his home and watched the object ascend slowly before it moved away at speed. The drivers' car lights flickered and their engines nearly stalled; the landowner reported flickering house lights and television problems. Investigation of the landing site indicated that a heavy circular object about 50 feet in diameter had landed, leaving a 3-foot burn mark at the center. The case was investigated by Charles J. Wilhelm and published in the MUFON UFO Journal of August 1983. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
