Cedar Lake, Indiana: Couple sees object hover in yard, ring of dead grass found later
At 4:00 a.m. on 26 August 1983, Mr. and Mrs. Zurawski of Cedar Lake, Indiana, were woken by intense flashes and saw an object hovering 4–5 feet above their yard; five days later they found a 13-foot ring of dead grass.
Background
At 4:00 a.m., Mrs. Zurawski was awakened by brilliant white flashes of light reflecting off the trees east of her house in Cedar Lake, Indiana. Thinking a thunderstorm was coming, she got up and saw the screen on the front door flooded with intense light; her husband, also awake, described the light as yellowish. Through a picture window Mr. Zurawski saw an object hovering 4–5 feet off the ground in their yard, and Mrs. Zurawski heard a swoosh and a crackle and noticed a ribbon of light moving southeast. Five days later they found a perfect circle of dead grass 13 feet in diameter in their yard. The account follows the entry in George M.
