Background

Around 4:30 p.m. on a day in spring 1983, a family fishing on the shore of Lake Scugog, Ontario, sees an underwater light about 2 feet in diameter. Standing up, they can see a cluster of at least a dozen lights in a circle about 45 feet in diameter; the nearest light is only 10 feet away, and the water depth at the fishing pier is only 8 feet. After 20 minutes, two young men arrive and watch the phenomenon in silence. When they turn and leave, the cluster moves in their general direction. Eberhart cites Michael D. Swords's GrassRoots UFOs (Fund for UFO Research, 2005, pp. 29–30) and Richard Dolan's UFOs and USOs volume (pp. 295–296). The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
