Background

At 10:00 p.m., a woman hospital employee was driving to work near New London, Connecticut, when she saw a light flick by quickly in the sky ahead; Eberhart dates the entry only to spring 1983. The light stopped above the treetops and shone a searchlight-like beam down on the woods, and she pulled over to watch. Abruptly the object, round with blue, yellow, red and white lights flickering in a circle, moved directly in front of her; there was no other traffic, although the road was usually busy. She blacked out for a short time and found that the engine, lights and radio had been shut off and the window rolled down. The car stalled when she tried to start it, but the engine finally caught, and she arrived at work uncharacteristically late at 11:05. The case comes from the Timmerman files as discussed by Michael D. Swords. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
