Brazilian Air Force Colonel Marcelo Hecksher observed a strong bluish light while descending toward Passo Fundo. The object accelerated, climbed, and vanished; radars in Curitiba and Santa Maria detected nothing.

Col. Marcelo Hecksher, a Brazilian air force pilot with the 1st Squadron of the 10th Aviation Group (Poker squadron), was flying back from Rio de Janeiro to Santa Maria air base. At 21:45 he began his descent over Passo Fundo, Rio Grande do Sul.
Sighting and Behaviour
An intense, faintly blue glow suddenly appeared to his right. It then moved rapidly ahead, climbed, and disappeared from view. Radar stations at Curitiba and Santa Maria did not register the object.
Evidence and Sources
