Several dozen Chinese scientists gathered in Dalian, Liaoning, to exchange views on UFO research for the first time. Some 40 papers were presented, 17 of which were selected for publication in the proceedings. An article in China Daily reported enormous interest in UFOs in China and a membership of 20,000 for the China UFO Research Organization. Its chairman, Liang Renglin of Jinan University in Guangzhou, said more than 600 reports had been made in the past five years. The account follows the entry in George M.
