Bridgeport, Connecticut: About 2,000 witnesses see dark object with lights in V formation

On the evening of October 17, 1985, an estimated 2,000 witnesses saw a dark object with lights over Bridgeport, Fairfield and Danbury, Connecticut. Several witnesses saw the lights change from a V to a straight line and back to a V formation. The object moved very slowly, rotated on its axis and accelerated rapidly. Some described it as larger than an airliner at low altitude. R. Perry Collins reported the sightings in his series "The Westchester Wing" in Pursuit. The account follows the entry in George M.
