East Los Angeles, California: Paul Davids and his children watch metallic domed disc
At 4:10 p.m. on 25 February 1987, filmmaker Paul Davids and his children watched from the roof of his home in Los Angeles, California, as a silent metallic domed disc crossed the valley and hovered, wobbling, for about two minutes.
Background
At 4:10 p.m. filmmaker Paul Davids was at work in his home office in East Los Angeles, California, when his children called him to see a "flying saucer." He saw a metallic, domed disc moving silently and smoothly across the sky over the valley in front of the house. They opened the window and went out on the roof, watching it for four to five minutes. At its closest point, about 500 feet away, it hovered for about two minutes with an even, slow oscillation, and its bottom seemed to change from silver to pitch black and back to silver. Then it flew away at a faster but uniform speed. Davids described the sighting himself in the International UFO Reporter in 1989. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
