Concord, North Carolina: Woman sees domed disc with ramp in backyard, post magnetized
On the evening of March 23, 1987, a woman in Concord, North Carolina, heard a crash and saw a domed object about 25 feet high with a ramp in her backyard; its intense orange light hurt her eyes, and two days later a metal post on her dog lot was found magnetized.
Background
In the evening a woman heard a crash outside her home in Concord, North Carolina, and went out to investigate. About 75 feet away in her backyard, partly hidden by a tree, she saw a domed disc: a dome about 6 feet across on top of an object about 25 feet high. The dome projected an intensely bright orange light that lit up the whole yard and caused shooting pains in her eyes; the lower part was blue-silver, and an 18–20-foot-wide ramp extended down from it. Because her eyes still hurt, she did not see the object leave. No ground markings were found the next day, but two days later she discovered that a metal post on her dog lot had become magnetized. Michael D. Swords described the case from the Timmerman files in the International UFO Reporter in 2002. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
