Cabo Rojo: Giant triangle absorbs F-14s

On December 28, 1988, numerous witnesses in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico, observed a massive bright yellow triangular object. It reportedly halted two approaching F-14 jets, absorbed them, split into two, and departed east and north.

Background

Event Details

On December 28, 1988 at 19:45, many people in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico reported a large, glowing yellow triangular object in the sky. It moved slowly until two F-14 Tomcats, presumably from an aircraft carrier, approached it from both sides and crossed in front of it.

Observations and Witnesses

Mañuel Marcado saw the light stop abruptly and take in both aircraft. The object flew over Lago Samán and split into two triangles, one of which shot off east and the other north. More than a hundred witnesses reported something similar, some mentioning red lights that were protecting or pursuing smaller objects.

Military Involvement

The triangular objects were reportedly tracked on US Navy radar. A third aircraft fled, pursued by red lights. There was no official confirmation of the missing jets.
