Gulf Breeze, Florida: At least seven people see a red light stop, hover and climb away
On 14 April 1990 at least seven people north of Gulf Breeze, Florida, saw a red light approach at high speed, stop dead, hover and move back and forth, then ascend out of sight; other groups saw red lights around Pensacola, some of which Eberhart says were undoubtedly hoax balloons.
Background
At least seven people reported a red light to the north of Gulf Breeze, Florida. It approached from the east at high speed and came to a dead stop, hovered, moved back and forth several times and then ascended out of sight. Other red lights appeared and were seen in various locations around Pensacola by other groups of people. According to Eberhart, some of these sightings were undoubtedly hoax balloons. He cites Rex Salisberry, "Red Lights in the Sky! Hoax or Real?" (June 1990), and Dan Wright's case log (August 1990), both in the MUFON UFO Journal. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
