Background
At 4:00 a.m. on March 29, 1991, Cleo Hall woke and noticed a strange bright light in the sky over the Chetco River area near Brookings, Oregon. Opening her curtain, she saw a brilliant orange light shining through the trees, at first like a fingernail tip of the moon but in the wrong part of the sky. The light grew in intensity, glowed brilliantly and then suddenly faded out as if moving away. Hall, an artist and retired nurse, quickly sketched what she saw. The Curry Coastal Pilot reported the sighting on March 30, 1991. The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
