Later that afternoon, 18-year-old Angelo Gianbattista reported to his father, police officer Franco Gianbattista, the crash of a dark, unknown object on Monte Mutria, Campobasso. Using binoculars, Franco made out two dark shapes in a ravine. The military police were alerted and moved in.
