Background

At 2:45 p.m. on July 15, 1995, two witnesses, an emergency room nurse and her husband, were driving north on their way home after a fishing trip to Harwinton, Connecticut, probably along State Highway 8 next to the Naugatuck River. A shadow crossed the road, and they looked up to see a large metallic disc about 500 feet in diameter at an altitude of about 200 feet, over trees about half a mile away. The object traveled at 65–70 mph; its surface was metallic gray, with a band of apparent dark glass panes and facets on its upper portion. It passed behind trees to the right within about 10–15 seconds. A group of independent witnesses at another location did not observe the object; Mark Cashman described the case in the IUR article "The Harwinton Daylight Disc." The account follows the entry in George M. Eberhart's chronology UFOs and Intelligence (CUFOS) and the sources cited there; it is not an independent determination by From Beyond Space.
