High Legh, England: Family on M56 sees silent lighted object hover overhead, then dart off
On the evening of June 1, 1997, Peter and Wynn Seel and their sons, driving on the M56 near High Legh, Cheshire, saw a silent, stationary object with red corner lights and a white central light hover above them, then accelerate across the motorway.
Background
In the evening Peter Seel, 47, his wife Wynn and their sons Craig and Scott were driving home along the M56 toward Heaton Moor, Stockport, after a holiday in North Wales. Near High Legh, Cheshire, they noticed a bright light in the sky to their left and first took it for a helicopter, but it was stationary and silent. The object hovered directly above them, then suddenly accelerated across the motorway at an estimated 100 mph and descended behind nearby trees. It had red lights on each corner and a larger white light in the center. Frightened, the family drove on. The account follows the entry in George M.
