At 7:30 p.m., a woman alone in her kitchen in Lachlan, Tasmania, noticed a bright light falling on the window blinds. Looking outside, she saw a large circle of light seemingly at ground level some 550 feet east of the house, in a paddock on higher ground in front of the trees. She went outside but could make out no further details and heard no sound. The light did not reflect on any of the nearby trees, and it later disappeared.
