Elizondo's Account
In his book Imminent, Luis Elizondo writes that, in the year before the later USS Roosevelt encounters, a U.S. Army Patriot missile battery tracked multiple unidentified radar contacts. He says the targets appeared to reach speeds of about 6,000 miles per hour.
According to Elizondo, he was aware of one such report from his time working Army investigations. He writes that the Army later opened the report under the supervision of its then director of counterintelligence.
