Background
A hand-held camera recorded the infrared display aboard a U.S. military platform over the Pacific Ocean. The footage is therefore not native sensor data and has reduced fidelity and resolution compared with the original display.
An area of contrast appears during several intervals. The sensor pans at times to keep it near the center of the field of view. The released material is identified as PR125, Video ID 1017788, and VIRIN 190101-D-D0360-5823.
The media was digitally altered before AARO received it. Its accompanying scene description is explicitly informational rather than an analytical conclusion and does not establish the nature, cause, or significance of the observed contrast.
Significance
